  1. MENTOR v1.3 DEMO VERSION

  3.      MENTOR consists of 6 mentally stimulating board games written for
  4.      MSDOS environment within a windows-type format making the games easy
  5.      to access and visually appealing.  Icons are also included for those 
  6.      who wish to run MENTOR through Windows. (see "How to Install" below)

  9. MENTOR v1.3  includes:
  10.      1. Nimrod - A game of foresight involving the elimination of blocks
  11.         and outwitting the computer.  Three levels of difficulty.* 
  12.      2. Slyder - Scrambled block puzzle which requires sliding the pieces
  13.         into their proper position.  Options feature choice of picture or 
  14.         alphabet and optional board size.*
  15.      3. Dagnabit - Features a challenging thought-provoking puzzle in 
  16.         which the player must move a certain colored block into the
  17.         correct position.  Mind boggling!
  18.      4. Gomoku - Classic stone game in which the player attempts to beat
  19.         the computer by lining up 5 stones in a row.  Three levels of 
  20.         difficulty.*
  21.      5. Megapeg - Classic European Peg-Solitaire game with advanced challenges.  
  22.         Through the process of jumping pegs, the player attempts to create the 
  23.         selected pattern.  
  24.      6. Vanguard - Another Peg game that will challenge the experts.
  25.         Two board size options and random pattern makes this game 
  26.         particularly maddening.

  52. This program is shareware. Distribution of 
  53. this program is encouraged as long as all 16 above 
  54. mentioned files are included and not altered in any way.
  55. Placing of this program on bulletin boards and other 
  56. electronic routes of distribution is encouraged.  The
  57. contents of the Shareware Installation Disk should be 
  58. packed into a single file with a popular file archiving 
  59. and compression program.  The file
  60. should be called MENTOR.*  where " * " is the 
  61. normal file extension associated with the 
  62. compression program used.

  79. HOW TO INSTALL Mentor v1.3:
  80.  
  81. Mentor can be run in DOS or from Windows.
  82. From Dos:
  83.           
  84.      If you have downloaded Mentor from a Shareware site, first create a 
  85.      directory called "Mentor".  Next extract the compressed file into the 
  86.      Mentor directory (or copy the 16 files (see above)into the Mentor 
  87.      directory.  To begin playing any of the Mentor games, type at the C:\
  88.      prompt "cd\Mentor", then simply type "Mentor".  You can now choose any
  89.      of the six games.

  91. From Windows:    
  92.      First copy the 16 files into a directory called "Mentor".
  93.  
  94.      To create icons in Program Manager:
  95.      From Program Manager, pull down "File" and click on "New". Select 
  96.      "Program Item" and "OK". Type in the name of the game you've chosen, 
  97.      then C:\mentor\gomoku.exe (for example).  Choose "Change Icon" and 
  98.      browse to the C:\mentor directory and choose the appropriate icon 
  99.      such as "gomoku.ico".  Click "OK" until you're back into Program
  100.      Manager. Do this for each game.
